About Our Cheap Sample Collections
Defective Nation understands (unfortunately all too well) what it is like to be; a struggling musician, student, unemployed, disabled or under paid. We originally set out to provide such people with the opportunity to be able to afford an effective alternative to owning ridiculously expensive musical instruments. We feel that we have now produced a respectable selection of high quality products at low prices (see links to left) so we have decided to create a selection of "budget samples" arranged into cheap sample collections.
Initially we will be concentrating on some of those cheap sample collections which are most in demand before we return to creating our higher quality collections. In future, each time we produce a high quality collection we will aim to also offer a cheaper alternative. Below is a simplified list of differences between our quality/premium products and our budget samples/cheap sample collections:
1. Budget collections will feature sounds/patches with only two samples per octave compared to the "every note samples" approach taken in our premium products. We are confident that our cheap collections will offer the best value for money anywhere as nearly all cheap sample CD's only feature one sample per octave.
2. Both premium and budget products are sampled using high grade 24-bit pro studio equipment to ensure the highest quality possible with the lowest amount of noise.
3. Much less time is devoted to creating our budget products which is why we can offord to sell them at such ridiculous prices however you will be amazed at the quality of the sounds. Of course we spend a great deal more time on attention to detail on our premium products so that these products include the unique subtles of tone and timbre that synthesisers produce and because of this our budget collections will sound a little more static when compared to our more expensive products. HOWEVER it is important to remember that our budget collections still offer the essense of the instrument sampled, in our opinion, at a greater level of detail than our competitors (because of using 2 notes an octave and more octaves than others).
